Leezet Llorance performed as an Access Database Developer/Administrator within the Financial Systems area of the Insurance Accounting department. I am pleased with her design/development of both the Account Mapping and Schedule T databases
· The Account Mapping database serves as a respository for the account mapping documentation . This documentation details how monthly premium and claims financial data in the data warehouse is to be summarized and translated into journal entry files which are systematically interfaced and posted to the General Ledger at month-end . By creating an Access database, this standardized the journal id and journal line descriptions across carriers. In addition, the use of reference tables enabled changes to existing or addition of new account mapping documentation to be accomplished in half the time.
· The Schedule T database serves as a data repository for year-to-date premium and claims data by state by Statutory Annual Statement line of business . Reference tables were created to translate GAAP lines of business to statutory annual statement lines of business eliminating a manual sorting/filtering/summarizing process. By standardizing spreadsheet names and formats, data from all the various sources (data warehouse, Excel spreadsheets, General Ledger) was able to be uploaded into one Access database with the capability of systematically feeding the Annual Statement software and generating reports. Leezet's creation of this database reduced Schedule T preparation time from 1 week to a matter of hours.
